In a materialistic world of physical endeavors and chained relationships, the heart desires something more meaningful, something that outlasts. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, a miracle spiritual guru and the fifth original Jagadguru in the history of India, was reminding humanity about that immortal fact- the greatest significance of divine love, or Prem Bhakti. His teachings and life are a perennial reminder to go back to the path of ardent devotion, wherein the soul only gets peace and satisfaction.

What is Prem Bhakti?

Prem Bhakti is loving devotion, which refers to the purest form of love given by an individual to God. It is disinterested, dispassionate, and free of any expectations of reward of any kind, whether material or spiritual. In contrast to worldly love, which is usually dependent upon expectations, Prem Bhakti is characterized by complete surrender and desire to see the Divine merely because he is what He is, rather than what he may bring to someone.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj said that this type of love is the supreme end of human life, the ultimate message of all texts, and the soul of spirituality. It does not apply to caste, creed, age, and background it is open to all and all can become God through love.

The Role of the Heart in Devotion

According to Maharaj Ji, God is not sought in dry intellectualism and rituals, but in a heart full of longing and humility, and love. His quotations were frequently scriptural, to demonstrate that the most erudite scholars did not come near God until they developed love in the heart.

He beautifully said,

“The heart that cries for God with selfless love is more pleasing to Him than years of penance performed without love.”

His Writings: A Reflection of Divine Love

In his poetry, Prem Ras Madira, Radha Govind Geet, Bhakti Shatak, and others, Maharaj Ji reflected how deeply the soul desires to join God. Not only are his poems spiritually deep, but they are also appealing to the emotions. They cause sight and leave one with a feeling of spiritual longing in the hearts of the believers.

He explained the most intricate aspects of the philosophy of Vedanta and Bhakti in such a way that it could be easily comprehended not only with logic but with divine emotion as well.

Conclusion:

Always in the course of ages, saints are there to remind the people of the great truth of it all--that God can be reached only through love. Not only did Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj preach this, but also incarnated this. His life, message, and deed were an expression of Prem Bhakti.

His teachings live on to this day with aspirants being guided by his teachings via such platforms as JKP knowledge. They remind us that wherever we may be in our lives we can start our journey towards God by simply expressing pure feelings, love.

Let your heart open to the eternal call of Prem Bhakti — a love that never fades, a path that leads straight to God.
