He used to reply to the letters of devotees in a unique style. No matter how many letters were received, he would first read and tear them and then write the replies to all one by one.
In the words of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, life at that time was such that he used to wear clothes like you people live, no rules, no restraint. He was eating, he ate fifty rotis. If he did not eat, he did not eat for ten days. All extravagant behaviour. And he did not even eat with his own hands. Whoever feeds him whatever he stuffs in his mouth, he eats that much, leaves. He does not have to wear a single piece of clothing with him. He went to your place and wore your clothes. If he did not have a dhoti, he wore pyjamas, otherwise, he wore a ladies' dhoti. This was our condition."
Now you used to go to conferences sometimes when people called you. If you heard the wrong speech of the first speaker there, you would first refute it in your sermon and then tell the correct thing and then start your sermon. This made other speakers feel bad. Then you would say that I will come on time and ask the first speaker to stop speaking two minutes before that so that I will neither listen to anything wrong nor refute it.
So you started going to conferences in this way. But your deep heart cannot accept that great learned speakers keep misleading the public in this way and keep them away from true devotion to God.
The first book Prem Ras Siddhant
The devotees who benefited from the Satsang of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj requested him to write a book of principles. So that they could get the knowledge of philosophy and get spiritual benefits. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj called a devotee and started speaking giving evidence from the scriptures, Vedas, Puranas, Bhagwat, Ramayana, and Geeta and asked him to write a book on principles. He said that you start writing. Seeing his scholarship and ocean-like knowledge of scriptures, the devotee was surprised.
On the Love of Lovers, he wrote a book named Shruti Siddhant Saar Swaroop Prem Ras Siddhant which was published in 1955. In which Acharya Charan has explained the topics by coordinating all the contradictory principles of the scriptures and Vedas in a beautiful simple language, keeping in view the benefit of the general public through daily experiences in addition to the evidence of Vedas and scriptures.
Soon the typing of this book named Prem Ras Siddhant started in a printing press in Allahabad.
Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj himself went to the printing press sitting on the back of a devotee's bicycle and did the final proofreading. After that, it was published.
But at that time many types of debates were going on in the spiritual field. People's disbelief towards Vedas was increasing. People were getting involved in superstitions and rituals. Mere scholars ignorant of the knowledge of scriptures were not able to provide the right guidance. Along with this, caste-based discrimination was also increasing.
Conclusion:
Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj provided a new path for the devotee as far as his life and work were concerned. He was simplicity personified, even while occupying the throbbing kingdom of scriptural knowledge and total dedication- with which he not only came to present the complex principles of the scripture in simple and effective language but also gave spiritual guidance to the common man. The making of a book like "Prem Ras Siddhant" serves as proof that he was not alone a great ascetic but rather a sage who made devotion to God simple, easy and accessible to all. His contribution still travails with people toward true devotion to God.
